The benefits of vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 applied through the skin remedies one of the most evident signs of skin ageing and, as such, offers a new solution for both preventing and reversing the effects of skin ageing.
It significantly reduces the appearance of wrinkles and skin folds, hydrates and significantly improves the skin’s elasticity.
Properties
If your skin is a reflection of your lifestyle, other factors such as polluted air, UV rays, stress or a poor diet have a direct impact on the health of your epidermis. Exposure makes it fragile and vulnerable. The result: dull complexion, blackheads, pigmentation spots and pimples. Like a boost, adopt face masks as a complement to your daily beauty routine to reduce imperfections.
The origins of the mask :
The cosmetic mask is a ritual created thousands of years ago. Ancient Egypt and its legendary Cleopatra were very fond of this type of care. Concerned about her appearance and wanting to maintain her great beauty, Cleopatra concocted mixtures and masks based on figs and donkey milk to reduce wrinkles and provide an antioxidant action. Her mythical milk baths are also proof of this. She sought at all costs to preserve her skin and her beauty. This ritual has crossed the ages by way of ancient Greece which gave the name of cosmetics translated into ancient Greek by Kosmos which means facing and ornament. These ointments elaborated from botanicals and resins were a custom in order to take care of one’s body in order to reach the house of eternity.
A regenerating mask is simply an extremely easy and effective way to do your skin good by deeply cleansing and moisturizing it.
In today’s world, our skin struggles to maintain the glow and freshness it needs. Hard water, pollution, lack of sleep, stressful work… many factors contribute to dull and tired skin! To remedy this problem easily, there is nothing like the regular use of a face mask.
Using a face mask regularly will help you get rid of small imperfections: sebum, blackheads, dull complexion…
A mask allows you to unclog your pores and nourish your skin.
In the past, making a face mask was an occasional treat to pamper your skin. In recent years, this skin care ritual and its categories have evolved. Thanks to innovations in textures and ingredients, these targeted treatments have become an essential part of our skincare routines.
However, with so many options available on the market, it can be difficult to get your hands on the best mask for your skin type.
And it’s SwissNess’ job to make sure you get the right skincare products for your skin.

Main active ingredients
Caffeine
Properties and benefits of caffeine:
Caffeine, an alkaloid belonging to the methylxanthine family, is chemically very similar to certain plants such as tea, mate or guarana. Beyond its recognized effects on the nervous and cardiovascular systems, caffeine also acts on the skin.
It stimulates the epidermis while having a proven gainer effect. It is used in particular to counter the slackening of the skin and to activate the blood circulation.
The draining, decongesting and lifting properties of the anti-dark circle and anti-puffiness eye contour products based on synthetic caffeine combine very well with the protective and antioxidant properties of this alkaloid.
Effective to prevent wrinkles, we can indeed count on it to fight against the signs of aging.
Caffeine also has calming and anti-inflammatory properties. It is therefore perfectly suited to dry or sensitive skin, often prone to redness.
Caffeine, a recognized anti-cellulite: Caffeine is a lipolytic active… It is not surprising to find it in most slimming products. Applied directly to the skin, it reactivates blood circulation, increases the level of molecules that burn fat and thus helps to destock it by breaking down the triglycerides stored in the adipocytes.
Ethylhexylglycerin
Ethylhexylglycerin belongs to the category of alkylglyceryl ethers. It is in fact glycerine attached to an alkyl (here Ethylhexyl) with an ether bond.
Properties and benefits of ethylhexylglycerin :
It is a versatile and multifunctional additive in the cosmetic industry.
It can act as an emollient or conditioning agent and moisturizing agent (see photo) of the skin because it has alkyl groups attached, and these alkyl groups can form a structure on the surface of the skin, which is waterproof and does not let moisture evaporate.
In addition, ethylhexyl ether is deadly to bacteria, this property is especially useful in case of preservation of any product, which enhances the effect of other antimicrobial and stabilizer in combination with other cosmetic ingredients.
Another use of this property is that it reduces the growth and multiplication of odor-causing bacteria. And that is why it is used in deodorants. Ethylhexylglycerin and other alkylglyceryl ether ingredients can be used in eye makeup, body and hand products, bath products, hair care, cleaning products, deodorants, foundations and sunscreen products.
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is a water-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in the hematological and nervous systems, and has a complex relationship with the skin. Altered cobalamin levels can lead to dermatological manifestations, which may indicate a deficiency or excess of this vitamin.
A retrospective and prospective study of 63 individuals with vitamin B12 deficiency showed that 41% had skin and mucosal changes, with glossitis in 31%, hyperpigmentation in 19%, hair changes in 9%, angular stomatitis in 8% and vitiligo in 3%. Vitamin B12 plays an important role for the skin and various skin findings are associated with cobalamin deficiency.
Properties and Benefits:
– Topical cobalamin has shown promise as a safe treatment for atopic dermatitis.
– Vitamin B12 helps regulate pigment production in the skin, helping to prevent dark spots and pigmentation (see photo). It boosts the metabolism and detoxifies it while firming the skin.
– Vitamin B12 improves the quality of the skin, especially the complexion. This vitamin is also a powerful antioxidant that makes the skin less oily and controls the appearance of dandruff.
Vitamin B3
Niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin of the B group, it is composed of nicotinic acid (niacin) and its amide, nicotinamide. Vitamins in general are antioxidant and therefore anti-aging and anti-inflammation, but this one is particularly versatile.
Properties and benefits of niacinamide :
Anti-inflammatory: Niacinamide has been identified as an effective treatment for various inflammatory skin conditions.
Reduces pores: By improving the elasticity and texture of the skin and limiting the production of sebum (responsible for pore clogging, among other things), vitamin B3 reduces the size of dilated pores.
Against the rednesses: By decreasing the ignition, the active ingredient has an impact on the reduction of the rednesses related, in particular, to the acne or the eczema.
Anti-wrinkle: By boosting the production and the quality of collagen in the dermis, it improves the firmness and the texture of the skin which marks less the signs of the age.
Anti-oxidant: It protects the skin from oxidative stress caused by toxins and external agents.
Anti blemish: (see photo) The application of nicotinamide-based care is effective in lightening pigmentary spots, results related to the increase in collagen production induced by the active ingredient.
Zinc gluconate
Properties and benefits of zinc gluconate :
Zinc gluconate is the zinc salt of gluconic acid. It is an ionic compound consisting of two gluconate anions for each zinc cation. Zinc gluconate is a popular form of zinc intake as a dietary supplement providing 14.35% elemental zinc by weight.
Zinc Gluconate is used in cosmetics for its antiseptic and astringent properties. It is often used in acne treatment products, it accelerates wound healing and helps the body to transform essential fatty acids used by the skin for healing. It is also found in deodorants and toothpastes.
Rebalancing: regulates sebum production by inhibiting 5-alpha-reductase, responsible for seborrhea of hormonal origin.
Purifying: proven effectiveness against Propionibacterium acnes (bacteria responsible for acne), Staphyloccocus aureus and Malassezia furfur (yeast involved in skin problems).
Soothing (see photo): regulates interleukin 1-alpha, a mediator of inflammation
Very good affinity with the hair, which prolongs its action.
Antimicrobial: Helps to slow down the growth of microorganisms on the skin and opposes the development of microbes
