SKIN AGING

Main causes and how to counteract them.

MAIN CAUSES

Skin aging is determined by genetic and environmental factors.

1) Intrinsic aging is a consequence of inevitable age-related changes; it affects the skin but also the other organs
2) Extrinsic aging is a consequence of environmental factors. The resulting histological, clinical and functional changes are related to sun exposure, nutritional factors, smoking and alcohol intoxication and many other factors.

1) Intrinsic factors responsible for aging:

Aging is a genetic phenomenon and individuals are not all equal when it comes to aging, and some genomes are more resistant to time than others. The main intrinsic factors identified to date are described below.
The blood supply to the skin decreases, resulting in a lower supply of nutrients and oxygen to the skin’s surface.
Genetics also plays a major role in skin aging. Our genetic predisposition influences the speed at which the signs of aging appear on our skin.

2) Extrinsic factors responsible for aging:
The exogenous factors that affect the speed of skin aging are all attributable to one process: oxidative stress. It consists of a release of molecules called free radicals in the body. According to this theory, we age due to an accumulation of damage caused by free radicals over time. Under normal circumstances, free radicals are captured and neutralized by antioxidants, molecules capable of absorbing and stopping them. However, over time, the skin’s ability to deactivate free radicals decreases.
Oxidative stress is triggered and promoted by various lifestyle habits.
– The sun – Nutrition, hydration and lifestyle – Insufficient or inappropriate skin care routine
– Pollution – Toxins (cigarettes, alcohol, drugs,) …

As we age, we notice that our skin wrinkles, withers and fades. It all begins in our thirties with the first expression lines that form in the areas of the face where the muscles are most active. Then the wrinkles deepen and multiply: these are dermal cracks.
To understand the appearance of wrinkles, we must first understand how the skin works. Indeed, the skin is made up of three main layers:
The epidermis: the visible layer of the skin that protects the muscles
The dermis: the main layer of the skin which has the purpose of nourishing it. It contains all the elements necessary for its maintenance, hydration and quality: blood vessels, lymph, and fiber. Collagen and elastin fibers are also present and help maintain the skin’s youth and firmness.
The hypodermis: this is the fatty layer of the skin that is in direct contact with the muscles.
The main wrinkles of the face are :
Nasolabial folds
The bitterness folds
Wrinkles around the lips
Crow’s feet
The lion’s wrinkle
Forehead wrinkles
As we age, the body slows down its production of collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin fibers, which has a direct impact on skin quality. The less nutrients and free radicals needed, the less the skin will keep and the faster it will deteriorate.

THE SERUMS

To boost the effectiveness of your day or night care, it is recommended to use a
Serum as a complement to your classic beauty routine. Combined in the morning and evening with your skincare cream or as a cure, this product, highly concentrated in anti-aging active ingredients, increases the action of your facial products (cream or oil) tenfold.
For maximum effect, the serum must be applied to clean skin.
And it is SwissNess’ challenge to guarantee you care products adapted to your skin.

The serum is an intensive treatment full of active ingredients, a concentrate of energy for your skin. Its light and fine melting texture has been designed to penetrate the skin quickly.
The role of the serum is to prepare the skin before the application of your usual care, in order to reinforce the action of this one, by acting in particular on the brightness, the firmness or the softness of the skin, it is thus used in complement of your cream.
Acting as a real booster, the face serum can be applied daily, but also as a cure for a specific imbalance.

Is your skin losing tone and are wrinkles starting to appear on your face? Rely on anti-aging serums to get your skin back to normal quickly!
From the age of 40, collagen production decreases: it is thanks to this substance that your skin is smooth and supple. To attenuate this phenomenon, a classic cream is not enough: it smoothes fine lines, but does not act in depth. It will also take several months before you see an improvement.
A lifting serum, on the other hand, will fill in marked wrinkles while redrawing the features of your face. After a few uses, you will find your skin firm and revitalized!
